It started in the resident of Hans Svaning & Marine Stage in Puggaardsgade, Ribe in 1554.This is their  story , their children & the SVANE family in the last  500 years.

The leading families in the 15th century Kingdom of Denmark was the Kings, the Dukes and the Nobilities, and the "patriciske" families.

The Svane family was a leading part of this "patriciske" society and had a powerful influence in the direction of the country in the 14th & 15th century in Denmark, for eks. in cities like Ribe, Horsens, Viborg, Roskilde  og Vejle .

Families like  Munthe, Stoud, Bugge, Bagger, Beyer, Friis, Enevoldsen, von Baden is an integrated  part of the SVANE  family in the 1600. Fameus persons sucs as Ludvig Holberg, Ludvig Heiberg  Johannes Ewald, Hans Svane og H. C. Hansen m. f.  is at part of the Svane legacy

A Danish   family which can be traced back to the 11^th century.

All families have their small secrets and our ancestors certainly had theirs. It was a way of survival in a society where missteps outside accepted values and boundaries was punished without mercy. So when we work with history, we always run into surprises here, there and every where. Our ancestors was clever to hide things, which should not reach the public eye.
