Welcome.
John F. Kennedy should once have said; "History is a relentless master. It has no present, only the past rushing into the future. To try to hold fast is to be swept aside."
The concept of "Family History" is not another name for the old days. It is the name of our roots, the stories about our forefathers and how their lives was. It is the foundation from which we are building the future.
This is a cyber book for the future, about our past, a family book in cyberspace. It is the history of one of the oldest Danish families, ”The SVANE Family" and its Ancestors.

The legend says, that we are able to trace the SVANE family back to the 12th century. All though legends often are true stories, they often tend to get an aura of its own. So, we will start our story about our Ancestors at the beginning of the 14th century, where the families grand old man - Hans Svaning and teacher for Danish prince Frederick II, was born.

As a historian and a teacher for the prince, Hans Svaning adopted the Swan as his logo (Shield), and most of his children were named accordingly with the surname SVANE (Swan). However few either maintain the fathers name Svaning or the historians used it as a reference name (an old Danish/Arabic tradition)
